CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #168 - hosted by Pamela

As promised, all my Design Team cards for the rest of this year will be of the stitched variety.  This is no hardship for me, as I am thoroughly enjoying making them.  It would be true to say that I enjoy stitching as much as I used to enjoy parchment work.  Here is my card for this challenge:

(the lilac surround is not part of the card - just there to give a clearer scanned image)
The stitch pattern is by Linzoos - i49.  I love their patterns. So many possibilities.

The deep purple background sheet is from a Duo Design paper pad called Seasonal Sparkle that I purchased from Hunkydory.  The central image was a purchase from Ann's Paper Art.  When I was checking up on the details, I discovered that they appear to be closing down, so I have purchased a few more items.  You can never have enough!!

The gems are from my copious supply of enamel gems.  I prefer them to sparkly gems when I am using them on stitched cards, as the colours blend with the cottons.

I have almost finished all of my Christmas cards, and I will have a couple of stitched ones to show you in the next couple of challenges.

Hugs everyone.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #167 - hosted by Jocelyn

I hope that all are well and not too wet.  It is very wet in Surrey at this moment, and really, I am pleased that staying in is not bothering me in the slightest.  I can still only walk very slowly and carefully using my walker, so I would get very wet.

I have yet another stitched card for your delectation.  I am really enjoying making them and -  even more - buying new cottons and patterns.

Here is my card.

I used Pattern No. R39 by Linzoos, I think this is going to be a new favourite.  The scan doesn't do it justice.

The central image is a 3D push-out I purchased ages ago, and the variegated thread  - an almost perfect match to the push-out - was purchased from Amazon.

I have now made 17 toppers since I rejoined the team.  That is the stitched image, together with accessories, that are now ready to be made into cards.

It will be my turn to choose the bestest cards for Challenge #168, and I am looking forward to that honour.  I will feel closer to being back to normal.  As much as I can .  I saw my GP last week, and sadly, he told me that although I am feeling better, the problem won't go away.  They love to be so positive, don't they?

Take care everyone.

Hugs, Carol xx

A new stitched card

using a pattern from Linzoos - P68.  I have fallen in love with this pattern, and I have so enjoyed making the card that I am going to be boring and share it in a few places.

The thread I used is a variegated Gutermann Sulky thread - colour 4106.  I made the background using a piece of multicoloured striped paper and my Kaleidoscope CD. The vase of tulips was an internet find many moons ago, and just seemed the only image I could use. A perfect match.  The blue and gold half pearls were the finishing touch.

Hugs

Carol

P.S.

The Creative Crafts site has honoured me by choosing this card for their September banner.
