CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #133 - hosted by Pamela

 

Again I turned to La Pashe for my card for this challenge.  As well as having a 'thing' about butterflies I also love seeing Hot Air Balloons.  Either images or the real thing.  I have this die for a balloon and when I found the stripey 'material' on the internet it seemed to go with the skeleton of my die perfectly.  Having made the 'balloon' I then searched my collection of CD's for a scene and found just the thing - guess where?  Yes - La Pashe.

I wanted something that I could use with space enough for the balloon in which it would look reasonably natural.  This image is called Daffodil Walk and is a decoupage page.

 

There are three layers for the decoupage - including the background.  The three small images to the right are perfect for ATC's. Here below is one I made many moons ago.

 

I plan to use the card in one of our UKSN swop groups and will post it next week.  Here at CD Sunday we have a rule that we do not show/use our team cards before they are published on the Blog, so I have to stick to the rules.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #132 - hosted by Carol - (moi). Anything Goes

 

I have some more La Pashe decoupage again for your delectation.  This  image is from the  'Remember When' folder - Set 3 (8a) -  on 'The Big One'  CD by La Pashe.    I think the era is around the 1940/50's.  Just a guess on my part as I really have no idea.

I have chosen black for the card and the size is A5.   I particularly like the dog as we used to have an identical one when I was about 8.  He was called 'Flash'.  Look at the size of the Rhubarb, Leeks and Cabbages.  Obviously a good garden plot.

I appreciate you looking at my work, and I am looking forward to inspecting yours.  Very closely this challenge - as I will be choosing the Top 3. xx

Because this card also comes from the 'Remember When' folder I wanted to show it to you as well.  I posted it recently on my Facebook page (February).

I made it because it reminded me of the old Macfisheries emporium that used to be in my home town.  Quite a few others remembered the shops as well.  A real 'Remember When'.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #131 - hosted by Aimes - Anything Goes

 

 

This Hibiscus decoupage image is from a La Pashe CD - The Big One - Vol 1 - Folder - Nice and Easel. The butterfly was made by me using a Carnation Crafts die and a rather special jewel like butterfly body.  Sadly it was my last one and I cannot remember from where I purchased them.

I used a Carnation Crafts 'Shabby' die for the pink background mat.

As I have said many times before I love all the La Pashe artwork.  You can almost always find what you need amongst the many hundreds of images.  Tis my go to supply.

I have mentioned before that I belong to the United Kingdom Stampers Network and one of the inter club sections is called 'Cards for Kindness'.  Each month a list of names is drawn and circulated and those on the list make a card for 'their' name.  I chose this one for April and I hope the recipient likes it.  It is winging its way - that is if the post does 'wing' these days.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #130 - hosted by Jocelyn.

 I was about to start my posting with a comment about not thinking that we have had many  CD Sunday challenges actually on Easter Sunday.  I did think though that I ought to check this fact.  Glad I did as I would have looked an idiot.  During the 14 years that I have been a member of CD Sunday - 9 of our challenges have been on Easter Sunday.  And only three in those 14 years have been in March.  

Anyway fact finding over - here is my card.

This a La Pashe card in 3D decoupage. I used a Carnation Crafts Shabby die for the blue mat.

 

 

 

The Hot Cross buns really look like little crowns and I decided to order some real ones with my grocery order from Sainsbury's.  They come in a pack of 6 and I managed 2.  Or rather I forced down 2 as they were awful.  Not like ones that I remember having a few years ago.

I hope you are having a good Easter Sunday.  Oodles of chocolate etc.  I am going down to see my daughter and SIL at the beginning of the week and they are taking me out to lunch.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge - #122 - hosted by Jo

I have another Christmas card to show you as my team offering for this challenge.  I will have a couple more though to show you before our break for Christmas but I have now actually finished making for 2023.  I think I have made more than I need but it just means I will have started early for next year.

Here is my card:

This is from La Pashe (where else) and is decoupaged - the pillars, wreath and birds.  I actually think the Mistletoe should have been decoupaged but, whoops,  I couldn't find it.

I am so pleased that Jo is back with the team .

CD Sunday Plus Challenge - #117 - hosted by Carol

Our lovely teamie Jo still isn't up to par - although on the mend - so I am hosting again.

I have another La Pashe decoupaged Christmas card to share with you.  As you will know by now La Pashe items are a favourite of mine.

Here it is:

It measures 6" x 8.5" with at most 3 layers. It comes from the 'Big One' CD and the 'Remember When' folder.

 

I just like the boldness and simplicity and it just shouts 'Christmas'.

I have made most of my Christmas cards now so I am using the  time for  making some more 3 point cards and some stitch card work.  The 3 point cards I toyed with back in 2021 and always planned to come back to them.  I am trying some different stitch cards. That is with more involved patterns.

And of course the Jigsaws.   I never get tired of those.  I am an avid collector  of Audio CDs covering many genres and I listen to them whilst jigsawing or crafting.  I have the almost complete set of 'Agatha Raisin' novels on Audio - read by Penelope Keith - 32 of them -  and listen to them time and again.

In between writing this and before publication I have managed to track down the last Agatha Raisin Audio book and am now avidly waiting for its arrival.  This is Book No: 33 and as sadly the authoress has died there will be no more.

An unexpected birthday card required.....

My lovely hairdresser Amanda visited me yesterday - obviously to do my hair - and when we fixed up my next appointment I discovered it will be on Amanda's birthday.  We usually only exchange Christmas cards but how could I not give her a card on her birthday, when she will be here.

Now, funnily enough, on my last delve into my hoard of La Pashe decoupage images I had found something suitable for a hairdresser so I made up the card, without any sentiment.  At the time I had no idea who it could be for but just liked the making of it.

So I have added the Happy Birthday sentiment and some enamel gems for the corners etc and Voila!

I used my Carnation Craft Shabby Dies for the mats and to cut out the sentiment. The image comes from 'La Pashe Splash Double decoupage.

I hope she likes it. She had been doing my hair now for 25 years and at 8-9 times a year that is quite a few visits.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #110 - hosted by me

I have another La Pashe 3D decoupage card to show you. The last for a while I think, but not THE last, as I really do love La Pashe.

All the details about this card are - I am afraid - the same as my card for the last challenge.  Just a different image.

This decoupage image comes from the 'Nice and Easel' folder on the 'Big One' CD. The Butterfly is on the image but I added the ladybirds from  the same box of 'little bits' as last time.

The background image and the mats were cut using Carnation Crafts Shabby dies.  Yet again I haven't decided yet which greeting or sentiment to use.

The trouble is that I put the CD in the drawer and start wandering through all the images.  I then see this one and that one  -  start printing them out -  and Hey Ho -  I am decoupaging again.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #109 - hosted by Jocelyn

 Back down to earth now with my CD Sunday Plus hat on.

Here is my team card for this challenge and yet again it is La Pashe decoupage. 

I love Anemones but they don't seem to do very well in my garden.  This decoupage image comes from the 'Nice and Easel' folder on the 'Big One' CD. The Bumble Bee is on the image but I added the ladybird from my box of 'little bits'.

The background image and the mats were cut using Carnation Crafts Shabby dies.  I haven't decided yet which greeting or sentiment to use.

I had a wonderful birthday week - phone calls, messages and  some truly beautiful cards including the lovely one from Aimeslee in Texas.  I had some exquisite parchment cards.  It is such a long time since I picked up my parchment tools.  They made me feel very guilty. 

Over the week I have had three special meals out with friends and family and  I have a house full of flowers -  and memories.  

The cards I received were so beautiful that I have decided,  that next week, (when the Challenge is under way) I will post some photos of them and of some of the beautiful flowers that I received.

More Christmas 2023 cards

 I did promise in my last post (for CD Sunday Plus) that I had found some La Pashe images that I wanted to use for Christmas cards and here they are.  All are decoupaged,  and I have added a little sprinkle of  Stickles  that I found in a box I was sorting out.

I think the last one is my favourite.  I did make 6 but I have saved one for CD Sunday Plus in a later Challenge. 

I must admit to being a little disappointed in the lack of brightness of the colours with the paper I have used -  without recourse to using my graphics programme on the finished picture.  So I am experimenting with various types and makes.  La Pashe used to supply their own brand which was perfect, but that too has disappeared with the company.  I am working on a 130gsm photo paper at the moment.  Looks promising.

I am now stitching some Christmas cards, and then I really must get back to die cutting.  Whilst my hand was so bad I got out of the habit and I have spent so much on die cuts that I must use them.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #106 - hosted by Pamela

 Simple flower decoupage.

 

These softly coloured Sweet Peas  are some of my favourite flowers. Apparently it is also my birth flower.  I also love the copper/brass pseudo coffee pot that they are in.

The image is from a La Pashe CD.  I have quite a few of their CDs and love them all.  So sad that they are no longer in business.  The artwork and style of all the work is wonderful and I keep going back to it very often.  There is always something there that you can use.

The tan/cardboard coloured mat was cut by one of the Carnation Craft Shabby dies.  Another favourite craft item.

In fact here is another of the La Pashe images from the same series that I used recently for a birthday card for a friend.  In fact, this morning,  she rang me to again to thank me for it.  She was just putting her cards away but told me she was keeping this one.

P.S.

I got so involved with looking at and sorting out the La Pashe images on my computer that I decided to do some more decoupage. 3D decoupage was my first craft love and I still do enjoy it very much. So here are 4 cards I sat and made yesterday.

These are all from a folder called 'Framin' on their CD called The Big One - Vol 1.  There is a printed picture frame that you can cut out to use but I prefer not.

Last is the Edwardian Dress Shop -  my favourite.  I have left a gap at the bottom so that I can add a sentiment.

There are quite a few Christmas images in the folder so I think I will move on to those.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #104 - hosted by Jocelyn

 Here is my team offering for this challenge:

When I made this we were going through many, many heavy showers in the UK, and in fact some poor souls were suffering flooding. I can't begin to really know how they felt but whilst in the middle of all this rain I saw this promise of Rainbows on an old CD that I was rediscovering when I was making Jocelyn's card for challenge #102.   It seemed another card I had to make.

The CD was by Ooh La La - Say it with Words,  and the 'rainbowish' background came from a La Pashe CD. 

I am still not making as many die-cut etc cards as I would like but digital work is keeping me busy and sane.  Arthritis is no friend as many here will know.

A birthday card for a Great Nephew

 I very, very rarely make the same or similar card twice but this is a special case.

 

My Great Nephew, Ellis, will be 8 next month, and like his father, Oliver, is an Arsenal fan.  I made the card for Oliver 2 years ago.  I thought that Ellis might like a card like 'Dad's'.  I hope he does.

The image is from a La Pashe CD - Big One Vol 2.  There a a few different colour shirts available on the CD and it is just a matter of playing around a bit.  I decoupaged the white sleeves from an all white shirt onto an all red shirt. The numbers come with the images.

It does look really good in the flesh.  Colourful and crisp.  I can recommend these images for any mad football fans for whom you have to make a card.

I made this card to send as a 'Card For Kindness' to another member of the UKSN.  Each month - those of us who have joined this little section of our club - are sent a name of the person we are to make for and to send a card. So this month my card goes to Valerie and I hope she likes it.  I enjoyed making it using a new digital purchase from here.

The background I used actually came from a La Pashe CD and the borders were made with my graphics programme.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Card Challenge - with UKSN

Although the UKSN is 90% about stamping and mixed media they do allow any kind of medium for their ATC section of the club and they have -  graciously -  allowed me to continue to use digital images whilst my hand is healing so that I could enter this challenge.  I had all sorts of ideas buzzing in my head and this is what I produced:

I loved creating this card.  The background of Buckingham Palace was a copyright free image from the net.  'Her Majesty' is a wonderful first layer decoupage image from a La Pashe CD.  This is the first piece of fine cutting I have managed since my op so I am so pleased.  The union flag numbers, bunting, corgis, guards and the princes all come from a digital download purchase from Kate Hadfield.

I am secretly pleased with it (perhaps not so secretly now) and I hope you like it too.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #76

I hope that a good and safe Christmas and New Year was had by everyone.  My Christmas plans were changed at the last minute. I was due to host a family Christmas at my place but due to daughter, son in law and nephew all testing positive I had to go down to Bristol to spend Christmas with my sister.  Not a hardship but she was supposed to be coming to me.

My first CD Sunday Plus card for 2022 is a birthday card for one of my Great Nephews - Arlo.  I remember that I started off last year with a card for the same nephew.  Last time it was a spaceship and this time it is a puffer train.

 

The image - which I have decoupaged -  comes from the La Pashe Big One CD  - Volume 1 - Remember When?

This has made a 6" x 8" (almost) card and I love these big and bold images.  They make such great cards for little ones.

Now that Arlo has a new younger brother (there are now three little terrors) I will have to find some  more and different images for future cards. I am sure that I will find something on La Pashe.

So a latish Happy New Year from me and I look forward to your visits chez-moi.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #73 - hosted by Margaret - 'Anything Goes' (as long as Rule 3 has been obeyed)

 This is the card I have made for Challenge #73:

I went to La Pashe again for the image for this card.    From 'The Best of La Pashe - 2012' - Disc 2 -  Decoupage plus -  'On Manoeuvres'.  The tank and soldiers are decoupaged. The cacti  were found on the internet - downloaded and cut out and attached with sticky pads.  The two background mats were die cut using Carnation Crafts 'Shabby' dies.

This is for my son-in-law who has a birthday in November. He has many hobbies and is a very talented builder of models.  All working ones - like helicopters that fly and tanks that manoeuvre.

I just now have to find out - via my daughter - what little something he needs for the next model.

I look forward to visiting the entries to the new challenge.  In the meantime please be careful out there.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #72 - hosted by Jo

 As always the challenge is Anything Goes as long as Rule 3 has been followed - see here in the sidebar.

For my DT card for this challenge I am presenting a card I made for my lovely nephew on his recent 43rd birthday.  He has been an Arsenal supporter since he really knew that there was such a thing as football.  We sometimes tease and embarass him by reminding him that when he was very little he used put on the kit when he was watching matches on the box.  I read this out to my son Chris  - his cousin - who commented  that it wasn't much fun being an Arsenal fan at the moment.  Much better to support his team - Liverpool. 

I don't understand the game - I was a golfer!

It all came from the La Pashe CD -  'Big One' Disc 2.  From the Football Birthdays folder.    It took a bit of fiddling and adjustments to get the 'strip' right before I decoupaged it.  It must be OK though as I haven't heard any complaints.

The red and white mats were cut using Carnation Crafts dies and I used the small centre oblong from one of the sets to make the sentiment.

CD Sunday Challenge #69 - hosted by Jocelyn

As always the CD Sunday Plus Challenges are anything goes as long as the challenge rules are followed - which you can find here.

This is my card for this challenge:

Now I have made a very very similar card before and shown it on here.  There seems to be a thing about camper vans.  Actually I think this is the 4th time I have used this image as the base of a card.

This was a special request from my DIL for her to give to her neice at her wedding.   My granddaughter Ellie was one of the bridesmaids.  As the other wedding card  was for the same family my DIL was very familiar with it and wanted one as like it as possible - with one or two tweaks.  The wedding itself was to take place on a cliff top but that I couldn't do so the beach it had to be. The groom was in the army and a Scot.  I couldn't find a suitable groom in a kilt so we settled for tartan bows and sentiment.  The wedding colours were green and navy.  This time I managed to hide the extra face between the bride and the chaplain.  The date of the wedding was on the number plate.  Last time it was the name of the camper van.

I was quite surprised that I enjoyed making it all again - well almost.  I am blowing my own trumpet I know but I was told that the happy couple want to frame the card.

So if you need a wedding card and have a camper van - I am your gal.

And yet more stitching - plus a little decoupage

 I sat and did the stitched one  last evening whilst collapsed in the armchair with the rotating fan whirring away.

I wasn't sure about this pattern as the stitch instructions seems to be a bit muddled - so I did it my way.

The die cut mistletoe charisma comes from Tattered Lace 'Sparkle and Lace'.

I decided to present this one as landscape rather than the usual portrait and I must admit I prefer it so.

Now this card I made for my son Chris - who has a birthday today.

This is to celebrate one of his many hobbies. This image comes from a La Pashe CD but the chips had dollar signs on them so I had to play about a bit to remove them.  

I am now running out of 'hobbies' so will have to encourage him to take up some new ones.
