CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #146 - hosted by Meg

There are three celebratory birthdays in my family this month and I have chosen the celebration of my granddaughter's 21st Birthday to share with you.

I find it hard to believe that Ellie (Eleanor) will be 21 in a few days.  Here is the card that I have made for her.

I used an image of Tatty Ted from the Docraft Designer CD. I printed it out twice and then punched out the flowers with my Pinflair Punch and stuck them on the image for the 3d effect. 

'Ellie'  and the borders were printed using my ACDSee graphics programme.

The image of the champagne bucket etc was a purchase from Etsy.

Using the image of the card front I made 6 coasters for her to use on the day and then keep as a memento. 

The scan isn't perfect but here it is.

I am looking forward to seeing her on her special day.

3 new cards to show

My first card is one I made for Michael - husband of my American friend Aimeslee.  Aimeslee happened in conversation to tell me that Michael loved Lighthouses -  and so do I.  It just so happened that I had obtained a greyscale image of a lighthouse that I had hand coloured with my pencils so I made it into a card and sent it off to Texas.

As I told Aimeslee -  I was 'chuffed' that Michael liked it.

 

My second card is made using Serif Craft Artist 2. 

 

 I used the folder Butterfly Paradise.  I played about a little, taking out this and moving that to my liking.  I added the sentiment using my ACDSee Graphics programme.   I had recently purchased some wonderful die-cut butterflies from Katy Sue so I used three of them as my finishing touch.  I can highly recommend the sheets of butterflies and here is the link.

My third and last one was made using my Docrafts Digital Designer.  My favourite images from this designer are Tatty Ted.  They are all wonderful.  This is what I made;

I printed out Tatty Ted Twice and  used my Pinflair punch to punch out the flowers to decoupage.  Once I had fixed them on I used some Cosmic Shimmer twinkles in the centres. Everything comes from the Digital designer except the coloured borders which come from my ACDSee.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #114 - hosted by Jocelyn

 

 

For this card I used an image from Docraft - Tatty Ted.  The bluish mat at the back was cut using a new set of dies by John Next Door  called Postage Frames.  I bought them from The Art of Craft.  

I used my graphics programme for the pink edging to the image, and for the words, and then stuck on some enamel gems in the corners.

I love all the Tatty Ted images on the Docraft Digital Designer.  I remember seeing Tatty Ted first in card shops.  Usually Hallmark Cards I think, if memory serves.  In those days I never dreamed  that I would one day be making my own cards - let alone using Tatty Ted.

This card was made for a friend of my son - for her birthday later in the year.  I think I have decided that the Happy Birthday will be put inside the card.

I have only one more Birthday card to make for 2023 and I have made quite a few Christmas cards so I am reasonably up to date so ......I can do some more jigsaws - with a clear conscience.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #90 - hosted by moi

 

This is from the Docraft Digital Designer - Tulip and Friends folder - Pampered Pets.  The words and the borders are from my graphics programme.  Some gems have been added to the cats collar and dingle dangle and to the dogs coat.

 You will begin to think that I am obsessed with above source and folders but I must admit to liking all the contents and have used many of them.  Whilst my hand was at its worst and I was just using digital images  - Docraft Digital Designer, Serif and MCS proved to be a godsend.

I will have used all that I made quite soon and have already started some decoupage and stitching.  When will I try some parchment? - I don't know yet.

Back to the card.  I just loved these two sweet animals.  I don't have cats and don't want one but they are very very cute and a lot of my friends have them - and my daughter has two.  I love dogs and have always had them until I could no longer go walkies. A girlfriend of mine has this sort of dog. A Scottie? I think. Anyway these two sweeties were separate images and I put them to together to make the topper.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #89 - hosted by Jocelyn

 This is from the Hot Diggity Dog folder again - in Tulip and Friends from the Docraft Digital designer.

I have added the extra cupcakes and the rabbit from The Card Hut CDs.  The words come from Beccy's Place and the blue borders from my graphics programme.  A real mixture of sources.

This looks like the scene of a super little picnic but... I hope those aren't wasps flying around after the sweet treats.  I hate wasps with a passion and have the scars to prove it.

I hope all are well and that the promised heat wave isn't too serious.  My plants are looking a little sad already.

I have managed some more stitching cards and a little 3D decoupage.  The 'girls' (my three crafting friends) are coming for one of their Sunday eat,chat and craft days at the end of the  month - hopefully - and I am planning that I will try some die-cutting with them.  The first since a while before the op.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #87 - hosted by Jo

A card for the 'Go to' box.  Sadly we still need a few of these but thankfully not as many now, as were needed in the previous two years.

This is from one of the Tatty Ted CDs using the Docraft Digital Designer programme.   To the topper from the disc, showing Ted in bed with flowers and the envelope,  I added the biscuits, the corner embellishments, the pink pencil and all the words.  The border was added using my graphics programme.

Another digital card that I enjoyed making.

Whilst I have been reduced to making digital cards I have had another problem - not being able to write inside the cards I make - or in fact even sign them.  I can now write but surprisingly my handwriting is now rubbish and difficult!!   I have come up with a solution.  Not mind blowing or earth shattering but useful.

I have bought a pack of Avery Address labels - J8166.  They are 6 on a sheet and perfect for a verse or a greeting together with your name.  These seem the perfect size for sticking on to the inside right sheet of the card. Here is a sample - perfect for the above card:

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge # 84 hosted by Jocelyn

Another Docraft Digital Designer creation from me for this challenge.  More from the  Hot Diggity folder on the Tulip and Friends CD.  I must admit that I find almost all the images etc on the Docraft Designer brilliant.  They seem to fit most occasions and are all beautifully drawn.

Here is the one I have chosen for this challenge:

I just love the expressions on the dogs faces as they look at the frog invasion.

Remembering some previous cards I have posted I seem to have a thing for green camper vans and surf boards.  I have only just noticed!  I wonder if Aimeslee notices.

Everything comes from the CD apart from the tri-coloured border which was made using my ACDSee graphics programme.

I knew that there had been a Hot Diggity song way back.  Yes I am just old enough to remember it -  so here it is.

A cheerful song to reflect my mood as at last I have received a date for my first Carpal Tunnel op - May 17th.  I know it isn't going to be very pleasant but it has to be done and the sooner the better.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge - #82 - hosted by Jo

Docraft Digital Designer.    Hot Diggity Dog from Tulip and Friends.

 I am so enjoying my revisits to CD's and graphic programmes to enable me to continue making cards.  Over time I have got so engrossed in exploring die-cuts and cutting machines -  Vignettes and Charismas etc that I had forgotten how I started out crafting.  I did also do a great deal of non die-cut decoupage (and still love it) but that is difficult until my wrists have healed.

 As the pains have eased a little I have been enjoying the 'digital' world but  I really do want to get back to die-cutting, and all that involves.

I look forward to lots of visiting, and I hope - visitors.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #81 - hosted by Pamela

I am still with the digital cards although I am noticing some improvement in my wrist after the jab.  A little less pain and almost no terrible pins and needles.  So hopefully it will continue this way.

I had a lot of fun making this card using one of my favourite characters - Boofle - from Docrafts.

So here he is.

It was fun choosing some favourite poses, changing sizes etc, and then thinking of some appropriate text/sayings.  The border was from my graphics programme.  Everything else was  'Boofle' from Docrafts Digital Designer.

The card was made for the Card For Kindness group on UKSN and is winging its way to its recipient in Australia. I am hoping that by the time this post appears it will have reached Sue.

I will be busy next week choosing my Top 3 for the last challenge and with the improvement hoping to find it all a mite easier.

I have a little story to relate  about my son - true - it happened last week.

I am taking a drug called Gabapentin.  Supposed to help with Carpal Tunnel Pain.  I am on quite a heavy dose and one of the side effects is to make you dizzy and unsteady.  I have been suffering - in spades - as they say, and had a long chat with medics about it and it is being reduced.

That bit is just background.  Yesterday afternoon I went outside the front door to the post box (separate from the house) to see if there was any post and when I bent down I started to lose my balance - big time.  In fact, in my mind's eye, I could see myself hitting the box and ground.  Anyway, I manage to get back up straight and all was well.

Later on, Chris  came home just for a moment and he asked how I was.  I told him about the incident and what I needed was one of those alarm bells you wear round your neck if you do fall.  But I said I couldn't have one of those because I am not on my own.  What I needed was one that just connected to him but such a thing would be impossible.

Ah says he. What you need is a Cow Bell.

I am just about still talking to him.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #78 - hosted by Margaret

Here is another digital only card from me again - I am afraid.  I can't wait to start playing with my die cutting machine etc but I will just have to be patient.

Today I have used my Docrafts Digital Designer  and I present to you a 'Tatty Ted' card.

The Tatty Ted folder in the programme is great. There are some super images.  Although they are 'cute' you don't get tired of them.  Here are some that I have used in the past

This one is simply made choosing a background and then adding an image. The balloons are from the extras and I added words to the border strips.

It does look better in real life than as a computer image and will be one for my 'go to' box.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #34 - Anything Goes - hosted by moi

Good morning.   I hope that wherever you are it is a glorious and sunny morning, such as the last few have been.  Some have been a  mite chilly but it is still good to feel the sun.

We have been having a goodly few entries into our challenges about which the team and I are delighted.  I certainly enjoy my visits to your blogs.  There is so much to admire and learn along the way.

As always it is an anything goes challenge as long as a CD, USB or 'digital image' has been used either on its own or in combination.

This is my card for this challenge:

It is a La Pashe die-cut decoupage.  So that I conform to the CD Sunday Plus criteria I have created a simple greeting inside using my Docraft Digital Designer programme.

There are quite a few layers of decoupage in places but it was nice to get back to a first love in crafting.

I look forward to more visits and discoveries and to that end  I hope you will join in with our challenges.

Tatty Ted to the resue

Whilst I am still not able to do any detailed parchment and I must keep busy - I have been looking up old friends like the Docraft Designer programme (hence Tatty Ted and others) and my folder of stitch card patterns.  I also - whilst scrabbling  about in a cupboard -  found my Pinflair Punch set.
Here are the results.

On the last card the corner flowers and some of the 3D flowers were made using the Pinflair Punch. Great little gadget.
I can't show you the stitch card I have  made just yet  as it is for a future CD Sunday Plus challenge but I know you will love it when you see it.
I have just purchased some new Christmas patterns from Stitchcards so am off to have a play.

A birthday card for a special lady.

I used Tatty Ted from my Docrafts Digital Designer programme.  There are some super decoupage and pyramage designs on the CDs and in fact, I have printed out several to work on over the next few weeks whilst I stock up my go-to box.

I liked this one as it was cute, but not too fussy, especially as I do not know the special persons taste very well yet.  Here it is.

Just three simple layers of decoupage and two matts. I added a little Wink of Stella to the flower centre and some special gems to the die-cut flowers in the corner.

p.s  I have had some good news.  My second cataract op is now on September 30th. I don't have to wait as long as I thought I was going to have to. I was told it could be three months. So pleased.

Another from MCS 'Simply Silhouettes CD' and one from Docraft

I had fun making the Fairy/Imp card for our current CD Sunday Challenge so I made this one at the same time.

The die cut tiny fairies were made using the Joanna Sheen dies using black, silver and glittered pink card. The wings were infilled with gold Glamour Dust.

I then had to make a card for my grandaughter Ellie and I chose 'Tulip and Friends CD' from Docraft.  I love all the images on this CD and enjoy the chance to use it.  The cake is one of my favourites and have used it before.  I have decoupaged the two bows and added tiny red half pearls to the cake decorations and her hair and shoes.
Ellie has a little dog called Alfie.  Not this breed but then you can't have everything.

CD Sunday - #5 - 'Anything Goes' - hosted by Margaret

It is pouring with rain. Quite heavy in fact. It was glorious sunshine when I wrote this yesterday. What a shame!

We have another 'Anything Goes' challenge which is appearing to be popular with everyone including the team.

I chose to combine this challenge with the birthday of one of my two Great Nephews.  I don't see much of him but my sister (his Grandmother) tells me he is just a typical 4 yr old.

Here is the card I made:

It was made using the Boofle CD for Docraft Digital Designer. I designed it and then printed it out to matt  and layer. The sentiment was added using my ACDeeSee programme.  I love the Boofle character and this was fun to make.  Just a nice image for a 4 year-old.

As you can see by Wynn's choice of challenge theme we at CD Sunday are still in the grip of Christmas card making
For my card for this challenge I chose to use Docraft Digital Designer 'Me to You' Christmas CD - Tatty Ted - decoupage  - and here is the card:

I loved making this card as it is quite different in style to the Christmas cards I usually make.   'Ted' looks so happy and I didn't realise there were so many decoupage images on the CD.  So 'Ted' is having fun and I had fun.

CD Sunday - 'Anything Goes' - chosen by Wynn

OK - back down to earth for me with a bump as big birthday is over and on Tuesday I have the op on my hand.  I will make my apologies now about my probable lack of commenting in the few days afterwards.  I hope it is only a few.

Here is my card:

I used Docraft Designer - Tulip and Friends #2 - Hot Diggity Dog. I think this a very sweet image and it was made with a friend in mind hence the name. I made all the card using Docraft except for the name and sentiment. I have a little graphics programme that came with my camera called ACDSee and it is much better at adding text etc than any of the others that I have found.
I will catch up with you when I can and if you feel like sending me some good vibes they will be much appreciated.

CD Sunday - 8th Birthday Celebration - with prizes

Yes - the 18th April is the official 8th Birthday for CD Sunday and the 21st is my own birthday too so I have hijacked the Blog - with the team's permission - and chosen the Birthday theme and designed the sketch for everyone to use.
Here is the sketch

and here is my Birthday card based on the sketch.

I used Docraft Digital Designer  - Me to You  CD - Spring Chic - Mother's Day.   This is only the third sketch theme that I have  done and I did enjoy making the card.   Sketch cards are growing on me.   I was quite resistant I remember when we first did one at CD Sunday way back 2012.  Perhaps we ought to do more.  Three in 6 years isn't excessive!
There a couple of super prizes on offer for the 1st and 2nd place winners. If you go to the Blog (here) you will see what we have for you.  The winners will be chosen by the whole team and because of that it will be a couple of weeks before the result is announced.,
I have some small celebration  planned for my own Birthday.   A crafting day and dinner out with some dear friends and I have already received  a present from the  'Government'  - a free TV licence.   What more could a girl want?    Yes you've guessed it - I will be 75.  Whilst I am on these steroids I don't feel old at all but I am waiting for the bump when they stop.

CD Sunday - 'No patterned paper' - chosen by Meg

A Happy Easter everyone. I hope the weather is being kind to you where ever you are and the chocolate fairy has visited.
This challenge is a little different in that Meg has decided to say what you can't use but you can use any theme or subject you like.
It is always hard craft wise to be told to exclude something as we always like to use the full range of our supplies. Even harder for us dedicated CD users as that is where we usually get out patterned papers.
But no patterned papers to be used.  For my card I went to a favourite at the moment  Docraft Digital Designer - Tulip and Friends CD.
Here is my card:

I kept it as simple as possible and it was made for a member of the Facebook Birthday list to which I belong.
April already. The year seems to be rushing by.  I now have my op date - 1st May.  I am so glad that I have got all my crafting up to date. How soon after the op I will be able to use my hand I have no idea but plan to watch TV and or do Jigsaws - left handed.

Quick cards

I am almost finished with my marathon craft sort out.  I have found things that I had forgotten I had and some I have never used.  Why is it that we crafters do that?   The advertisers are doing a really good job - we can't resist stuff.   I am going to try and be good in future - watch this space.

Anyway putting that aside I felt the need to do some crafting of some kind but didn't want to get out 'more stuff' so I thought  I would do some digital crafting.

I have the Docraft Digital Designer Programme - which I love.  I particularly like Tulip and Friends.
This all came on CDs by the way so I can use it for cards for CD Sunday if I wish.

Here are two cards I made for a couple of birthdays coming up next month.

 

Apart from printing out and sticking to the blank card all I have done is find a couple of bows from my rediscovered stash.

I then went to another programme I have installed (again from CDs) -  Funkyhands.
I made another word card - this time a birthday one for a friend. (This friend doesn't have a computer so won't see this)

I plan to add some embellishments nearer the time.

I also made another using MCS but this is for CD Sunday and it turned out to be one of my favourites but I can't show it yet.  Dying to but can't or rather daren't.
