The Coasters that were on C & C

Not a brilliant photo I am afraid as the plastic kept catching the light. I did make one for Dave, which isn't in the photo, and I have promised to send ones in for Hayley and Lotti.
The 'Watercolour Memories' for the guys were printed on photo paper and the 'Shoes in Bloom' on parchment, embossed with an added motif.

Hayley and Lottie have now received the promised coasters.

White work butterfly

Another pattern from the Parchment Magazine. This time from June 2007 by Josephine Davisdon. This was worked on the PCA Fine Grid. I altered the edging as I didn't have the tool as per the pattern so I had to adapt with one I did have. The pattern called for a corner tool and then embossing with a sun tool. I used a half square and then embossed two lines and then snipped out the central triangle that was left.

Quick Flower Vase card

I came accross this pattern by Pat Hoskins in a Parchment Magazine from April 2005. She has two versions to do but I chose the 'black ink' one as I wanted to try out a new 0.2 black pen that I have just bought. I still think a fine mapping pen and ink gives a better result. The edging is done using a Quin tool with embossing around each central hole and then snipped out. I like the randomness of this edging. The pattern also gave me some more practice of colouring using polychromos and dorso oil.

Ooh La La Blog Challenge - Flourishes and Pearls

This is our current challenge on Ooh La La. (link in the title) The crackle backing paper used is from their CD 'Shoes in Bloom' - my favourite CD.
Don't forget that 'Shoes in Bloom' is one of the two CD's being showcased on Create and Craft this coming Saturday (19th) at 10.00am.

Special Butterfly Card

This card was a joint effort between myself and a special friend for another mutual special friend. I made the butterfly, which is another designed by Pauline Loweth, and my friend made the card. The card was designed to be bright, colourful and very 3D as the mutual friend is having eyesight problems which we hope and pray are temporary.

Birthday Butterfly

The border is from a pattern in the Parchment Magazine - July 2009. The butterfly (pattern by Pauline Loweth) and the half pearls are my addition in place of the coloured Irises in the original design.
This card has now been entered in a competition. I'll keep you posted.

Fan

This is the Fan on the cover of Pergamano Parchment Craft by Martha Ospina.

Black and White

I made this a little while ago but I have just borrowed the frame to use for a sample to go to C & C so I thought I would take a photo for here whilst it was out. The border pattern is from the Parchment Magazine and the motif (which is an iron-on one) was purchased from a friend.

Using a Download

I used a digital download which I embossed and added a little colour. Then created a border and attached to crackle backing paper from Ooh La La 'Shoes in Bloom' CD with tiny brads.

Anniversary Card

This is a Wedding Anniversary card I have made for a couple of dear friends. I have used another Sarah Kay image. There seems to be one for almost any occasion. I have printed on parchment and painted from the back again and used a border I have used before as I like this particular one a great deal.

Butterfly Grid

I recently purchased another Pergamano Multi Grid. This time No:17 which is all butterflies. There are two good borders with corners and 8 butterflies of varying sizes. I had a bit of fun just using the grid only and my polychromos pencils in 4 colours. I found the piece of splodgy backing paper in my box of leftovers - where from I can't remember. The second bp which looks like linen was made using my photo manager. I scanned a piece of linen look mirri card in pale pink but it was too small to use so I changed the colour tones etc in my programme and printed out an A4 sheet. An experiment I will certainly repeat.

SATURDAY 19TH JUNE AT 10.00 AM ON..........

Create and Craft TV is a date you must keep. Ooh La La Creations are showcasing two of their many wonderful CD's - 'Shoes in Bloom' and 'Watercolour Memories'.
Debs Mitchell, a great friend of mine, is going be doing some wonderful demonstrations and the DT have been working their socks off to produce some wonderful samples. Boasting I know, as I am one of the team, but I know you will love them all. I'll make no bones about the fact that I love all of the work produced by Emma and Wendy of Ooh La La and I consider myself lucky to be one of the team.
I'll be glued to the TV - I hope you will be as well.

Photo Frame in Parchment

This is my interpretation of a pattern, by Jenny Hunter, in last month's edition of Parchment Craft. I have been searching for some time for a suitable frame for one of my daughters wedding photographs and finally have found this one. Not for the feint hearted as the gridwork takes time and patience to prick out but I think it is worth the effort. As it is a repeat pattern the sizing is flexible.

Magnolia

The image of the Magnolia flower was printed from a CD on to parchment and then embossed to show colour and shape. A border using a pattern by Pauline Loweth was added and then mounted on bronze mirri card held with bronze brads.

CD Sunday Challenge ' Feathered Friends'

This is my entry in the CD Sunday Blog Challenge this week - Feathered Friends.
I have used Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew CD for the image and the BP. I punched the BP with my Martha Stewart 'Punch Around the page' punch. (The only one I have). I mounted the image on very pale green linen look mirri card and then sewed beads to the tail and crown feathers. The toning ribbon is from my stash. I knew it would come in useful one day.

(note: no parchment)

A Judith Maslen pattern

This is a pattern I have had for a little while. No printing and painting on this one. It has all been done the traditional way. Pen work, tracing, embossing and colouring with polychromos pencils and blending with dorso oil.
I have used the same card as on my previous posting as the colours seemed to go so well with this one.

Another Sarah Kay figure from Mettemusen's site

This little lady I think will make a lovely birthday card. She has been printed on parchment and embossed and coloured from behind as before. The border I found amongst my various downloads but I have added the sun tool, and again sewn the whole piece onto the card with beads. The card is a pale rainbow effect printed on some gorgeous linen look off white card I found in a local GC at a Payperbox stand - all you can fill for £5.99. It takes ink beautifully as you can see.

Parchment ATC's using images from Mettemusen

These little drawings are from Mettemusen's site, reduced to ATC size and printed on parchment. Painted on the back using Bruynzeel pens - and some light embossing.
The titles are:
'Come Fly my Kite', 'I am Sorry', 'Sending a message', 'Just a touch more', 'I love you Mr. Pig' and 'Wait for me'.

Wedding Card

This is an image from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Romance CD. Printed on parchment with corner motifs embossed using a 'fancy grid'. I used a PCA large sun tool in the oval around the bride and then just embossed other details. Added a tiny half pearl to the button on her dress and sprinkled the border and headress with fine glitter or 'oofle dust' - as I call it. The ribbon comes from my local store and the linen look mirri card from QVC.

One Peacock - two cards

This time I traced and embossed and coloured the image adding a few patterns and more Glossy Accents. A different style border this time affixed with a bow to rainbow parchment.

One Peacock - two cards

I bought this wonderfully coloured iron-on motif at my local Craft Store. I scanned it, printed on parchment, and added Glossy Accents for the gems in the tail and then worked a ribboned border.

CD Sunday Challenge - Elegant Ladies

Over at CD Sunday the theme is 'Elegant Ladies'. I have used MCS 'Deco Follies' for the background balcony scene and for the lady. The lady was printed from an NSR (Alice)on to a parchment wrap then embossed and coloured from the back. Two brads hold the wrap strategically in place - one as an earring and the other in the bow on her hip.

Dayze of Innocence - CD by Debbees

Parchment ATC's made using 4 of the 7 folders on this new Cd of artwork by Pamela West.

Ooh La La 'Shoes in Bloom'

This is the Aster folder from 'Shoes in Bloom' by Ooh La La Creations. I never get tired of using the images from this CD.
I have printed on parchment, embossed the image and used a fancy circle grid for a delicate border and then used a 10 needle scallop tool 'to take it out'. I have then used sewn beads to attach the parchment circle to a pale lilac glitter circle. The card uses the crackle bp from the CD.

The exciting news is that Ooh La La Creations will be on Create and Craft TV on Saturday 19th June at 10.00am. Shoes in Bloom will be one of the featured CD's.
Sample cards by members of the Design Team, of which I am proud to be one, will be on display.

Using artwork from Pamela West - New CD from Debbees CD's

My copy of this great new CD by Debbees arrived on my doormat this morning with the ink still wet. This great Cd has been made using the artwork of Pamela West. There are 7 folders with toppers, decoupage, shaker cards and Acetate decoupage plus bonus bp's. An awful lot for just a few £'s. Debs has done some wonderful work with these lovely little paintings.
I have, of course, printed on parchment, and used the Alison Yeates designed oval frame for embossing and pricking out the image. The card uses a bp from the same folder and apart from doing a little embossing and adding a chiffon bow that is all I have done.
I am going to enjoy using all of the other many images on this great new CD.
There is a link to 'Debbees' in the title.

OLL DT #54 Bright and Cheerful

This is my current DT card on show for Ooh La La and the image comes from Ooh La La 'Floral Extravaganza'. It can be found in the Bonus Folder - Toppers & Pyramage. I have printed it onto parchment paper, embossed on the back and added a little colour behind the sun to brighten it up. I have used a scallop tool to 'take it out' and then added a little Sakura Metallic pen to each scallop. Mounted on green hollographic with green brads and then yellow crackle background from Shoes in Bloom. I love the cheerful little yellow birds on the branch.

Days Gone By - CD Sunday Challenge

This is my offering for this weeks challenge on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog.
Days Gone By is the remit and I have used Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique CD for the 'Paperdoll', MCS for the background, and flower, ribbon and gems from my own stash. I used the Pinflair punch for the tiny pink flowers.

Lacy Flowers

This is a pattern by Sylvia Hunsley in a past edition of the Parchment Magazine. This is the second time I have done this card as I like the clean simple design and I enjoy doing it.

Parchment ATC's

I need to make several new ATC's for the swops I am involved in. I have chosen images from my favourite CD again - Shoes in Bloom - as a start. It is so easy to print these out at the correct size and emboss them. A quick and pretty ATC.

Gridwork Flowers

Here are some gridwork flowers. The pattern is from Amanda's site (link is in the title). They are very unusual but quick and fun to make. Useful to have a little box of them made up to use at any time - esp instead of a 'butterfly' moment.

ATC

I found a lovely parchment site whilst trawling the other day. Her name is Amanda and she is in Taiwan. Amanda is very generous and offers many free patterns as well as selling her own book of wonderful patterns for miniature handbags. I have put a link in the title and hope it works.
I enjoyed making this ATC. It has one of my own flowers in the centre rather than the drawn one in the pattern.

Sunday CD Challenge - Country Charm

For this weeks challenge I have used an Ooh La La Cd again but this time 'Passion for Fashion'. I have used one of the 'Quick Cards' and printed on parchment and painted and embossed what was the little monochrome image. I have used bronze linen look mirri card as the matt and bp from the CD. The embellishments are two pale peach butterflies from 'Artwork'.

'Some flowers for you'. Mettemusen

This is another image from the Mettemusen site. There are so many lovely ones to choose from. I have done this in a similar way to the first one. Some embossing on the back and then painted with felt tip pens. This time the border was done seperately and then stitched to the image piece adding toning beads. The blue crackle bp is from 'Shoes in Bloom' CD by Ooh La La Creations. My favourite CD makers. This card combines all my favourites, parchment, beadwork and 'colouring in'. I don't think we ever grow out of enjoying colouring in.

Butterfly on pink

The same Gothic butterfly but this time mounted on rainbow parchment and pink glitter card. I wasn't sure if I hadn't 'fiddled' too much with it but friends tell me it is OK. And what are friends for?
x

Mettemusen pattern

I just printed this lovely image on parchment paper and then embossed and coloured from the back. I used Bruynzeel Superpoints with just a damp brush. These pens work beautifully with parchment as the colours are bright enough to show well from the back and they spread nicely without too many streaks. The little bird and the branch were already coloured. Just a very simple 'dot' border and then mounted on the very pale pink linen look mirri card that I have just bought from QVC.

OLL DT - Minimalstic (white space essential) # 53

The parchment butterfly was made using a Pauline Loweth pattern. The card was designed using MCS and my own Photo Manager programme.

CD Sunday - Baby Talk - (Sold)

Over on the Sunday CD Challenge Blog the theme this week is 'Baby Talk'. I have used a CD from Ooh La La Creations called 'Kiddiwinks'. In fact this image is the one they use as a frontspiece. I have mounted it on a parchment matt and the bp is from the bonus pages but matches the folder.

Another Gilly Howe download pattern. There is a choice of two sizes for this Lacy Fan and this is the smaller size. A lovely pattern to do - simple and stylish.

Saturday, 1 May 2010

This is a pattern I have had for some time but only just fished out of my 'library'.
This was designed by Gilly Howe and is available from her website. It is a lovely card to do especially if you love gridwork like me.
