CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #94 - hosted by Jocelyn

At such a sad time I felt a deep need to display a favourite photograph that I have saved of HM Queen Elizabeth 11.

I saw it on the BBC News page that opens up whenever I switch on my computer.  It was taken during an amusing incident at a ceremony when the Queen and Prince Philip were surrounded by a swarm of bees where he had to stand still - at attention.

The smile and the twinkle in her eyes is what I will remember about our Queen.

Now -  here below -  is the card I made for this challenge.  Nothing royal but then I couldn't know what was in the wind.

This was made using Serif Craft Artist 2.  The CD is called Waterworld and was by Daisy Trail.  Full of super images and I have used it a few times.

In sorrow.

A little keepsake

I have felt so sad the last few days.  It is so difficult to come to terms with the death of our Sovereign.

I have always felt a special bond as our birthdays were on the same day.  My mother used to tell me that the guns being fired as a birthday salute in Hyde Park were for my birthday.  I believed her for a while.

Whilst I have been sitting watching the TV coverage of the services and parades I decided to try some more stitching.  It is more exercise for my hand and the sort of crafting you can do whilst watching the 'box'.  I found a great new pattern on the Stitching Cards site and here is my interpretation.  I added the dates as they were not part of the pattern.

I had to photograph this without the glass.  I will put that back in and then keep this close by as a momento.

CD Sunday Plus Challenge #93 - hosted by Margaret

I had some fun making this one.  It all comes in digital downloads from Polkadoodles.  They sent me an email offering a 40% discount - so how could I refuse.  It would have been rude.

The pink lidded eyes I have had stored in a little embellishment box for a while.  You just know you are going to need them one day.

Happy Cactus Succulent bundle - (PRECOLOURED) printable clipart digital stamp for cardmaking, craft & stickers

This is the set that I bought - 'Happy Cactus' - together with some sayings and beautiful backgrounds.

This was a quick decision make and add to my CD Sunday makes. The UKSN group I belong to had sent me my 'name' for the Care For Kindness list for September and I desperately wanted to play with the new purchase - so -  what I had planned for this CD Sunday will now be my card for next time.  I think I understand it!

I don't think this will be the last of my Happy Cactuses.  (even though Grammarly has underlined Cactuses - it is correct).

Hugs
