CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #96 - hosted by Pamela

For my team sample this time I am showing some ATCs that I  made for a Facebook group I belong to -  ATC Swap UK.  The theme for the month of October was Harvest Festival.    Here are mine.

No:83

I found the background frame on MCS and then filled them in with digital images from a Kate Hadfield folder - Pick of the Patch.

I am still enjoying the world of digital crafting and I think it is going to be a godsend to me as physical problems make other kinds of crafting more difficult.  The op on my hand has not been the total success I would have wished for and the surgeon herself is now not well and my follow up appointments are getting further apart.  As well as the dreadful state the NHS is in, with waiting lists getting longer and longer, hand surgeons - in particular - are thin on the ground. It is a very very specialist field - a problem.

But I am still managing to do stitching though  and some die-cutting, so all is not lost.

Stay well and safe.

Carol

  1. Love your beautiful autumnal/harvest festival ATCS,the colours are perfect for this season. So sorry to read that your surgery was not as successful as you had hoped,I hope that the pain has improved though. The waiting list for hip surgery is up to 123 weeks in Grampian now. Our NHS is in an appalling state.

  2. Carol this is lovely. Digital art is a great way to still craft when you are not as mobile. I am sorry your hand op hasn't gone as well as you'd hoped. The NHS is really struggling at the moment and only seems to be getting worse.

Kate Hadfield has a gallery where you can add your your makes using any of her digital items. If you add your ATC I will leave you some love. There are a load of free digital templates you can download to do scrapbook pages. It might be something you may ant to play with. I have only discovered in the last few months and quite enjoying it.

    Love and best wishes

    2. Hi Carol, Kate has mentioned today that she might be doing a DT call later in the year as some people are dropping off the team. If you are interested let me know and I will contact you when the time comes. You can do just digital art, digital scrapbook pages and you can have access to anything in the store as long as you only order packs that you use.

Anyway, just let me know if you are interested :)

  4. Hi Carol, I'm so sorry to hear that your op was not as successful as you hoped. I understand your frustration as I'm also struggling with my hands (well my whole body really!). It's good that you are finding other crafts that you are able to do. The mention of 'Harvest Festival' takes me right back to my primary school. Singing 'We plough the fields and scatter' while taking baskets of fruit and veg to be shared out in the community. Your atc's are lovely, the recipients are going to be very happy to receive them. Hugs xx

  5. Hi, Carol! Your ATCs are the embodiment of Autumn through and through! Just darling! I empathize with your hand abilities, and how much one body part can immobilize our daily activities. Here in Florida, we also have a dearth of specialists of any kind. My guess? Sometimes students choose pre-med thinking it is going to be a certain way. But unless they actually LIKE people, and truly want to HELP people, and not just order pills and tests, I think "doctoring" is going to worsen until technology can perform miracles. I hope your specialist's health improves, and that you, too, are able to improve. Thank you for visiting my blog recently.

  6. Carol, my heart sank reading this. So sorry the magic wore off, you know? Right now, I can't color because my pincer grip is jerky, but mine will pass. I had been reading about the NHS and I can only hope it doesn't get worse. I do like your ATC's very much. Anything with scarecrows, wheat, cornstalks and tractors is good for Autumn. xoxo
