More Christmas 2023 cards

I did promise in my last post (for CD Sunday Plus) that I had found some La Pashe images that I wanted to use for Christmas cards and here they are.  All are decoupaged,  and I have added a little sprinkle of  Stickles  that I found in a box I was sorting out.

I think the last one is my favourite.  I did make 6 but I have saved one for CD Sunday Plus in a later Challenge.

I must admit to being a little disappointed in the lack of brightness of the colours with the paper I have used -  without recourse to using my graphics programme on the finished picture.  So I am experimenting with various types and makes.  La Pashe used to supply their own brand which was perfect, but that too has disappeared with the company.  I am working on a 130gsm photo paper at the moment.  Looks promising.

I am now stitching some Christmas cards, and then I really must get back to die cutting.  Whilst my hand was so bad I got out of the habit and I have spent so much on die cuts that I must use them.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #106 - hosted by Pamela

 Simple flower decoupage.

These softly coloured Sweet Peas  are some of my favourite flowers. Apparently it is also my birth flower.  I also love the copper/brass pseudo coffee pot that they are in.

The image is from a La Pashe CD.  I have quite a few of their CDs and love them all.  So sad that they are no longer in business.  The artwork and style of all the work is wonderful and I keep going back to it very often.  There is always something there that you can use.

The tan/cardboard coloured mat was cut by one of the Carnation Craft Shabby dies.  Another favourite craft item.

In fact here is another of the La Pashe images from the same series that I used recently for a birthday card for a friend.  In fact, this morning,  she rang me to again to thank me for it.  She was just putting her cards away but told me she was keeping this one.

I hope all are well and I look forward to your visits.

P.S.

I got so involved with looking at and sorting out the La Pashe images on my computer that I decided to do some more decoupage. 3D decoupage was my first craft love and I still do enjoy it very much. So here are 4 cards I sat and made yesterday.

These are all from a folder called 'Framin' on their CD called The Big One - Vol 1.  There is a printed picture frame that you can cut out to use but I prefer not.

A Cottage Garden

A Hat Shop

Puffer Train at the Station

Last is the Edwardian Dress Shop -  my favourite.  I have left a gap at the bottom so that I can add a sentiment.

There are quite a few Christmas images in the folder so I think I will move on to those.

Christmas has arrived at my place

I have started making some Christmas cards using cards patterns from Stitch and Do (link in side bar).  The centre pieces are 3D push-outs that have been decoupaged.  Most of the cottons I have used are by Nymo.

The coloured mats were cut with a Carnation Craft Shabby die.  My favourite sized square one.

The greetings were typed on white linen card using my ACDSee graphics programme and cut out using a couple of dies.

I enjoy making these and have a few more planned.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #105 - hosted by Moi

I had fun making this one.  The photo is from ??  It just reminds me of trips to far away places in the dim and distant past.  It must be the sunset and the palm tree.

The card for the 'card' came from a selection I bought some time ago.  From where - again??  But they are A4, glossy and with a water colour effect.  The pack came in quite a few colours and this one looked sort of tropical.  I found a matching plain piece of glossy card to use as the mat which was cut with a Carnation Crafts 'Shabby' die.

The cacti digital images came from a Polkadoodle folder called Happy Cactus.

The sentiment and the border for the photo were created using my graphics programme - ACDSee.

Lets hope that some of you may get to visit some tropical type places now that travel is easier but please - still be careful.

I look forward to your visits here.

8th March 2023

I suppose it serves me right for posting a photo of a tropical scene? in the middle of Winter as here are a couple of photos taken in my garden at about 8.15 this morning.

I thought that we hadn't had snow for a long time but I checked on the photos that I always take when it snows and it snowed 2010, 2015, 2018 and 2021.  Always at about this time -  Feb/March.
