More Tattered Lace dies and 'downloaded vignettes'

I don't know if the term 'downloaded vignettes' is the correct one to use for the pictures that you download to use with the appropriate die.  I saw it used on the blog belonging to one of our CD Sunday players so I am using as well.  If I am wrong perhaps some kind soul will tell me.

Whilst I have been having such fun with the dies etc making 3 D pictures I have been investigating various papers in order to get the right effect. Or rather the effect that I want.  I tried some glossy photo paper that I had found in my stash but discovered that it was far too heavy gsm wise and the result was very poor.  A fellow CD Sunday teamie had suggested one of the ICE range of papers and I ordered small quantities of a few and settled on ICE professional inkjet photo paper Gloss 210 gsm.  It cuts beautifully and I think it looks perfect. You can be a judge as that is what I used in the following two cards.
The topper I used for both these cards is a free download from Graphic Fairy.  It is - I believe - a Victorian postcard or something similar.  I lightened it a little so that it didn't look too Victorian, and added a border.

The die-cut flowers are Lavatera from Tattered Lace and are 3D.  I think they do look good using the ICE paper.

The added words were done by me with my ACDSee programme.

The first card is for my go-to box and second a thank you to a dear friend.  It was her birthday on Friday and I joined her and another friend in her garden for a cup of tea and a glass or two. This was the first time I have been out since Feb 20th and I must admit to feeling quite scared and jumpy. Ridiculous at my age - but I did.

I forgot to say that the pretty backing paper is a free member download from Create and Craft.  One of Nancy's collections I seem to recall.

I am off back to the dining room do some more die-cutting.  Keep safe.

  2. Two stunning cards Carol. I am so envious now as after waiting since April for the arrival of the Favourite florist collection I have had to have a refund from C and C as apparently my order was a ghost order (?). Now everywhere has sold of of the collection and I cant get it.

  3. Two gorgeous cards Carol, which I'm certain will be treasured. I'm glad you found a paper you liked.

Carnation crafts refer to their downloads as vignettes whereas Tattered Lace call their downloads Charismas. It seems that they are just the individual companies preferred names for 'downloads that go with their dies'. Why some are free and others chargeable remains a mystery to me! I'm glad you're enjoying using them.

I don't think you're alone in feeling jumpy about things just now. It's the people seemingly without a care in the world who risk causing major problems for the rest of us.
